ZEB boiler cost and installation cost: what changes the total?

Do not rely on a generic headline price. The total installed cost depends on the system specification, your property, the heating distribution, hot-water arrangement, electrical work, access and the installer’s detailed scope. Ask for a written, itemised quotation.
Start with an itemised scope, not an advertised price
A useful quotation separates equipment, installation labour, electrical alterations, hydraulic work, controls, hot-water changes, radiator or pipework alterations, access, making good and excluded works. It should also state VAT treatment, validity date and every assumption that could change the price.
What can make a ZEB installation cost more
The total may be affected by electrical capacity or consumer-unit work, internal service space, routes for pipework and cables, hot-water arrangements, changes to emitters or controls, access restrictions and any required building work. A one-line price cannot show whether those items have been allowed for.
Compare an alternative on the same scope
If you are also considering a heat pump, request scopes that explain the same categories of work: heat-loss work, radiators or pipework, hot water, electrical work, controls, outdoor or indoor siting and making good. A cheaper headline can represent a narrower scope rather than a better value outcome.
