Grant status

ZEB and Boiler Upgrade Scheme support: keep the two questions separate

Quick answer

The current official Boiler Upgrade Scheme page lists grants for eligible heat pumps and, in limited circumstances, biomass boilers. It does not list heat batteries as an eligible technology. A manufacturer promotion is not the same as a current Government voucher.

Current official Government BUS status

GOV.UK describes the scheme as supporting eligible heat-pump and biomass-boiler replacements in England and Wales, with stated grant amounts and installer-led application requirements. Check the official page, current property requirements and a suitable installer before relying on eligibility.

A promotion is not a Government grant

A discount, finance offer, trade-in, manufacturer contribution or installer incentive may affect your own purchase price, but it does not make a technology eligible for BUS. Ask who is funding the offer, what conditions apply, when it ends and whether it can be combined with any other support.

Questions to ask before you rely on support

Confirm the technology, property, installer route, timing, exclusions, application process and documentation requirements in the official scheme material. If an offer or policy statement cannot be traced to its primary source and check date, treat it as unverified.

Grant safeguard

This page separates official Government scheme wording from a manufacturer promotion. Do not make an installation decision based on this page alone.

Use your own property details

The Home Check creates an initial private report before requesting contact details. It does not replace an installer survey.
